Prinny Mill are happy to be back after the Christmas and New Year break, we have had an exciting month here at the Mill…let us tell you why.

In this month's update we are featuring our Team Member, Naomi Aspin. We are also giving you an update of what the New Year has in store for Prinny Mill.

At the very start of the month our Business Admin Apprentice, Anna Henderson, completed her Level 2 Business Admin course and we are now at the next stage of Anna going on to start her Level 3 and training with us for another year here at Prinny Mill.

Prinny Mill are broadening their horizon too as the development continues in the New Year…what more could we bring?! Unfortunately, you’ll just have to wait and see…

Question One: How long have you been working at Prinny Mill?

Since March 2014…can’t believe it’s nearly 4 years!

Question Two: What has been your greatest achievement whilst working at Prinny Mill?

I feel that we have achieved many things in the past 4 years, but I think that the greatest to date is working with Martin in developing the business to provide a professional business centre with a friendly, family atmosphere.

Question Three: Describe yourself in three words.

Organised, Focused, Driven.

Question Five: What has the next 12 months got in store for yourself?

My diary is always booked up with either work appointments or sporting events so. I am hoping that will continue in 2018 with the reward of a holiday to somewhere exotic towards the end of the year.

Question Six: What has the next 12 months got in store for Prinny Mill?

The introduction of new ground floor office suites as well as development of our new mezzanine floor archive storage units. We will also be continuing to develop the centre for our existing tenants to make this the best business centre in the Rossendale Valley.

Delightful December!The Prinny Mill Solution

Well, Prinny Mill has had an excellent 2017.The last twelve months have not only changed Prinny Mill (for the better) but, it’s also been one of the busiest years we have had!

We started off the year by welcoming our Business Admin Apprentice, Anna Henderson, who is still working to complete her Level 2 in January 2018 here at Prinny Mill.

We also welcomed more than three new Tenants in May who chose Prinny Mill as HQ for their businesses and over 5 new business post box users. In celebration of this we continued to make positive changes to the Mill and the surroundings that will benefit not only our visitors, but also our current tenants and tenants for years to come. These changes included a full refurbishment of our Car Park, complete with new tarmac and car parking bays – unique to our tenants and their visitors as well as other parking bays for visitors using our meeting facilities.

With the 21st June being the longest day, we took full advantage to clear our to do list which included upgrading our Reception area! At the beginning of June is when we first started the ‘Prinny Mill Face Lift’ not only did it benefit the building but, it also benefited us as a Team.

Prinny Mill’s summer consisted of work…. work…. work until our modern and airy reception area for our Management Team was created together with a new meeting room, which is now the ‘Halo Suite’.

The Halo suite is available to rent at £12.50 per hour. You do not need to be a Tenant to book! Just call Anna on 01706 233575.

What an overachieving month October 2017 was for us! On completion of our Prinny Mill ‘Face Lift’ we hosted a Launch Day themed ‘Coffee, Cake and Cocktails’ on the 12.10.2017 where local businesses came down for a tour of our new and improved facilities whilst interacting with each other over coffee, cake and cocktails. Whilst hosting the Launch day, we took the opportunity to raise money for The Beating Bowel Cancer Charity (a charity close to our hearts). In doing so we raised over £2000!

Question One: How long have you been at working at Prinny Mill for?

I have been working at Prinny Mill for 10 months and I am working towards the completion of my Level 2 Business Admin apprenticeship in January 2018.

Question Two: What has been your greatest achievement whilst working at Prinny Mill?

My greatest achievement whilst working alongside Martin and Naomi is raising a copious amount of money for The Beating Bowel Cancer Charity. Hosting our open day didn’t only show what a good team we make but also, we have a lot of grateful supporters who also were also a tremendous help to raise over £2000.

Question Three: Describe yourself in three words.

Happy, Funny and polite.

Question Four: Describe Prinny Mill in three words.

Unique, beautiful and professional.

Question Five: What has the next 12 months got in store for yourself?

Within the next 12 months I plan to stay with Prinny Mill (If they will have me) to go on and do my level 3 in business admin. I plan to better my experience and hopefully after I have completed my level 3 I hope that I will have the option to stay on full time at the mill.

Question Six: What has the next 12 months got in store for Prinny Mill?

Prinny Mill has just finished a whole lot of new works which looks amazing. I know that Martin has a lot of ideas going forward in the future but that’s something you’re going to have to wait and see yourself.

Overachieving October!The Prinny Mill Solution

What an exciting month Prinny Mill has had as we completed Phase 1 of our ‘Face Lift’.

To celebrate the completion of our upgrade we hosted an open day, based on the theme ‘Coffee, Cake and Cocktails’. Whilst also raising money for the Beating Bowel Cancer Charity.

But before we enlighten you with the details of our open day, we’d like to introduce our new Tenant, Kidult&Co.

Established in 2015, Kidult & Co is a British designed Clothing and lifestyle brand. Kidult and Co was started with a purpose; to make children’s clothing that broke the mould. To take a stand against the tide of pink for girls and blue for boys and stand up for the British fashion industry, with a strong emphasis on Made in Britain.

We’re not evangelical about it and we’ll never get all preachy on you, but Kidult and Co firmly believe that what you wear – whether as an adult or a child – should not be dictated by society or anyone else, but instead that your clothes should be a means of self-expression that tells the world who YOU are, not anyone else.

That’s why we just make simple, well-made clothing with great designs and a big dash of style, so that both you and your little ones can look cool and express your individuality, regardless of your sex.

To help you get to know Kidult and Co a bit better we asked them 3 questions about their business.

1. What does the next 12 months have in store for you?

First and foremost, our main objective is for Emily to be able to leave her day job and come on-board full-time for the business, from doing so we will have more time between us to complete tasks, focus on other areas and expand further. Secondly, we would like to increase our stockists and have stockists in all 6 continents (We are currently in 4 out of 6 continents). Thirdly now Melissa and Laura are working full-time for the business we would like to begin attending networking events as well as worldwide trade and runway shows to raise brand awareness and expand our business.

Another objective for next year is to expand our range and focus on different printing methods. We would like to introduce all over fabric prints and have a seamstress in house to produce garments other than T-Shirts, as these have currently been our main focus. We would also like to introduce an organic clothing range to meet broader target markets.

We would also like to continue to help and work with a variety of different charities that have the same beliefs as ourselves going forward in order to help make a difference.

2. Describe your company in 3 words?

Unisex, Innovative, Creative

3. How did you come up with the name Kidult and Co?

'Kidult' means an individual who doesn't want to grow up, it's also a play on the words kid and adult and we sell clothing for both. The 'Co' relates to the 3 of us running the business.

Our Open Day

On the 12th October 2017 Prinny Mill held an open afternoon 3pm – 6pm, in support of the Beating Bowel Cancer.

From our Business Centre Tenants to local Rossendale Borough based businesses and beyond, we were truly overwhelmed by the amount of support towards the Business Centre and, of course, in helping us to raise funds for Beating Bowel Cancer.

Here are some facts and figures from the day...
- Over 60 Attendees
- 45x 'Storage Wars' Competitors
- 25x Tombola Prizes
- 8x Tours of Prinny Mill Business Centre & Storage Facilities
- 1x Magnum of Champagne for the Business Card Draw
- 1x 'Storage Wars' Business Hamper Prize worth £1,000!
- Copious amounts of cake, coffee, cocktails and fizz!

On the day we raised over £500, which is an excellent effort in only 3 hours from our Tombola, Pledge Boxes and Storage Wars Competition!

We have since, however, had some further generous pledges of support from individuals and businesses who couldn't make it to the event and, we are pleased to say that the total raised on the day is now well in excess of £2,000!!!!!

We’ve had another busy month here at Prinny Mill. With the 21st June being the longest day, we took full advantage to clear our to do list…did you?

What’s the top of your bucket list? - I’ve always wanted to see the sunset celebration at Mallory square, Key West, Florida appreciating our beautiful world whilst watching the jugglers and street performers. Planning on ‘ticking all this off this year…. next stop India!

What gets you out of bed in the morning? – My busy schedule! I always seem to have a cram jammed diary with lots of lists to ‘tick off’ but, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
